A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of spending the weekend in St. Louis. It's about a 7 hour drive for me, so I packed up my little blue suitcases and hit the road!
I tend to get really bored on long solo car rides, especially when I get stuck in traffic:
It was my friend's 30th bday and we went to a Cardinals game to celebrate!
That's the birthday girl, Jen, in the front right, I'm in the back left along with Amy and Emily.
Before I headed out, I did a little research on vintage clothing shops near downtown. I was able to make an appointment at one and it turned out to be more than I could ever dream of!
I got to dig through giant cardboard boxes FULL of vintage clothes at an amazing warehouse in the Soulard neighborhood of downtown St. Louis.
The building was part of an old brewery, the Lemp Brewery.
There was an incredible iron spiral staircase that I despirately wanted to climb, but I didn't want to ask! So instead, I took photos. Next time though, those stairs will be explored!
There were hundreds of the 5 foot tall boxes just spilling over with clothes. Everything was for sale and it was arranged by type of clothing: dresses, skirts, men's shirts, sweaters, leather... All you had to do was dive in! I only had about 1.5 hours, not nearly enough to do it justice, but now that I know it's there, I'll make sure to stop by every time I'm in town!
If you'd like to make an appointment and check it out yourself, contact Donna at http://www.donnaland.com/.
And I got to see my parents! Always a wonderful time!
Now I'm just dreaming of my next trip back and spending lots more time in that warehouse!
